Since 1998, the Casseneuil Festival of India has been a not-to-be-missed cultural event in Lot-et-Garonne, offering a total immersion in the richness and diversity of Indian culture.

Organised by the Laxmi France association, this festival has built up a loyal following of fans over the years, who are passionate about Indian arts and traditions.

Every year, this unique event attracts local residents as well as visitors from all over France, enchanted by its warm and exotic atmosphere.

With its spellbinding shows, spicy cuisine, immersive workshops and captivating lectures, the festival offers a genuine invitation to travel, without leaving the South-West of France.

More than just a festival, it’s a sensory and cultural experience that allows the curious and the passionate to discover India in all its facets, in a festive and convivial setting.

An event not to be missed!

The Festival of India 2025 runs from Friday 21 March to Sunday 23 March 2025, offering three days of cultural escapism and discovery. This timing is ideal for a spring getaway, at a time when the days are starting to get longer and the temperatures are getting milder, ideal for walks and festivities.

The event will take place at the Salle Yves Duclos in Casseneuil, a charming village on the banks of the River Lot, just 12 minutes from Villeneuve-sur-Lot. This location provides easy access for both local residents and visitors from further afield. Whether you’re just passing through the region or a festival regular, this year’s event promises to be a total immersion in Indian traditions, with a programme packed with colour and emotion!

📍 Getting to the festival:
🚗 By car: Casseneuil is easily accessible from Villeneuve-sur-Lot and the main Lot-et-Garonne departmental roads. Parking will be available close to the site.
🚌 By public transport : Bus routes serve Casseneuil from Villeneuve-sur-Lot.
✈️ By train or plane: The nearest train stations are Agen and Marmande, and Bergerac airport is around an hour’s drive away.

🍲 2.00 pm – 4.00 pm: Indian cooking workshops with tasting.

📚 16:30 – 18:00: Lecture on the history and philosophy of India.

🎶 8.00 pm: Big show of traditional dances followed by a concert of traditional music.

📅 Sunday 23 March :

🎨 10.00am – 12.00pm: Mandala creation workshop and introduction to henna.

🎥 2.00 pm – 4.00 pm: Screening of an Indian film followed by a debate.

🎊 17:00: Closing ceremony with dance and music show.
